FOR RELEASE: June 19, 2002

Applied Control Engineering, Inc. (ACE) recently completed the process control engineering and startup services for Conectiv Energy’s Hay Road Power Plant expansion.

Conectiv Energy recently completed a major step in its mid-Atlantic production capability, launching for commercial operation a state-of-the-art steam generating unit at its Hay Road Power Complex near Wilmington, DE. Conectiv noted the importance of bringing this plant on-line in time for summer to enhance its ability to provide customers with reliable service during hot weather.

ACE was contracted by Conectiv Energy to provide the ABB control system engineering and configuration.  ACE also supplied an OSIsoft PI process historian for the expansion.  ACE began working on the project in November 2000, providing similar engineering and startup assistance for the combustion turbine simple cycle operation last summer.

ACE has been working under contract to Conectiv Energy, providing similar engineering services for the Bethlehem Power Complex since early this year.  The Bethlehem facility will begin producing electricity later this year and be fully operational with heat recovery steam generation sometime next year.
