TransAmerican Automation Inc. was founded in 1983 as Panelmatic Systems, Inc. (PSI) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Panelmatic, Inc. PSI was created out of a need to provide industry with comprehensive controls engineering support. This need increased as a new form of process controller, the programmable logic controller (PLC), gained popularity. To support these growing needs, PSI was chartered to provide process control engineering services to a wide range of industries.

PSI grew in size and capabilities completing over one thousand control and automation projects for numerous industrial clients throughout the U.S. and abroad. PSI gained a reputation as a firm that could undertake challenging projects and deliver them in a quality manner, on time and within budget.

In 1999, PSI was restructured as TransAmerican Automation, Inc. (TAI). The goal was to further expand upon PSI's specialized technical services and client base. TAI would adopt emerging networking, software and information technologies to further assist clients. Additionally, the Houston, Texas, and Charleston, West Virginia operations were added to better meet the needs of clients in those regions.

Today, TAI is a premier control systems integrator. TAI is an innovative company whose people have the specialized knowledge to successfully complete challenging industrial automation projects. The operating philosophy has always been based on the belief that clients deserve the best engineering value. For TAI, that means listening to our clients, recognizing their problems and working with them to apply effective technical solutions.
